Kirkland Uncorked 2012

I have a favorite spot on Lake Washington right now. Marina Park in Kirkland is my favorite because it’s close and gives me a great place to go think about the day behind me or the one ahead of me. When I travel to Kirkland, I prefer to travel by Metro bus. It’s a stress-free way to travel to a stress-free lake. There’s no parking to worry about. If you want to have a glass of wine, it’s not a problem. I go to the marina quite often — several times a week. To either walk or just to sit and think. Of course, today was special. I knew that they were setting up for Kirkland Uncorked — a special Wine and Boat exhibit. I just love the atmosphere of something fun in the summer. We don’t get much of that here in the Pacific Northwest, so I like to soak it up while I can. Several new and used boats for sale have been set up on the public marina by dealers and brokers. There was a much larger day cruise ship docked next to the typical Argosy tour boat that is docked in Kirkland. The new ship made the other look like a toy in comparison. People had been ferried in to take part in the pre-event festivities. It looks like everyone is already having a great time! Tomorrow should be much more interesting as everything ramps up at 2PM. Come on down and have a glass of wine and enjoy the event!
